Hello my wonderful family! This week has been one of the best weeks of my life. I am so blessed and lucky to be serving a mission and to be in one of the most wonderful places ever. This past week I have felt that the Bronx is very familiar to Ely. I know, it is weird because they are completely different. However I have figured out why I have felt that way. It is because they both feel like home. Sounds really cheesy but it is true. I have never felt more at home in New York than I have here. I love it. We have so many amazing people we are teaching. Too many people we can't get to them all. Isn't that crazy?! But thankfully we have the amazing tool of Facebook and technology! It is a life saver especially when we can't get to everyone's homes. We can video call and Facebook chat. It is a marvelous tool! I love witnessing the change the gospel brings to those we teach and who are surrounded by the gospel. There is a women who is coming back to church and we took her with us to teach the restoration to a wonderful women. After we taught the most powerful spiritual lesson ever, I asked our member how she felt. She told me and with a huge smile that she felt so happy and good. It made my heart sing! I love it. We also had a recent convert come out with us to teach this week. None of the appointments seemed to work out but as we walked home with her she said "I feel so happy. Even though no one was home I know Heavenly Father needed me on this mission. He wanted me to see what you Sisters do when I don't answer the door!" Haha she is so cute. I have also loved being surrounded by kids again. While I was in YSA I would joke and say " I can't teach kids. I'm to scared of them!" The first week here was named adjustment and still is. The first week I would flinch when the kids would come up to me. Hahah so bad! I'm getting better ;) At church yesterday there are two families who have adorable little kids and all the kids came up to me and started hugging me! Every time I would see them they would run to me and talk with me! They told me I was beautiful and they loved me. Made my heart so happy ❤😊 Even though life right now is so bright there is always opposition. We experienced that on Wednesday. We had everything ready and all was going so smooth. It was to good to be true. I kept second guessing everything saying "It is too easy." We were taking a recent convert to the temple to do baptisms for her sister. Her first time since baptized. We even had another member come with us and all was going well. We then get to Manhattan and get off at Grand Central. We all lock eyes and make sure we have everyone. Then we start walking up the stairs to transfer to the shuttle. Once we all get up the stairs and we look around and we can't find our recent convert. Our hearts drop and we start to frantically look everywhere. This member is an older women who knows her way around the city but doesn't have a cell phone or has ever been to the temple before. We panic. We start to pray and search. Pray and search. Pray and search. Pray. I kept saying "Heavenly Father I have faith. I'm not doubting. Please help her to be okay and not frightened." We stayed at Grand Central for an hour. We couldn't find her anywhere. We then prayed again and felt we should go to the temple with our member. It was a wonderful experience. We told our senior missionary couple and they said that everything would work out. It would be okay. It was about 9:15pm and we still hasn't heard from her. We called hundreds of times and no answer from her home. We were really frightened now. Finally 9:25 she answered. She told us that she got lost and went home. She felt it was a sign she isn't ready yet. She was very upset. It made my heart hurt and we couldn't figure out why it was supposed to happen that way. But it was what was meant to be. The most interesting part of the whole day is even though I was scared for her, I felt calm. I felt at peace that it really would all work out. Talking with her yesterday she said she was really angry but is doing better. She wanted the address for the temple but isn't ready to go yet. So that is a plus! She is still thinking about it. I know that God has a plan for everyone. We may not know how it will turn out but it always turns out. He wants us to be happy and will give us what we need at the time we need it. We have to be patient and ready. I love you all so much! You are all such amazing examples to me! Sister Robison Oh! Also for Valentines day we had a Sisters Conference for all the he Sister Missionaries in the mission. We had the amazing opportunity to hear from and meet Christian and Stephanie Neilsen. Their story and life was amazing to hear. They didn't talk much of the plan crash but they talked a lot about our divinity as daughters of God. They talked about the beautiful gift of the Atonement and love of god. It was incredible to hear from them! This is their Mormon message. I encourage everyone to go and watch it! https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-05-10-my-new-life?lang=eng
